First Look at Paul Rudd as Scott Lang in Marvel’s Ant-Man
The upcoming
Ant-Man film adaptation from Marvel Studios got into hot waters when problems
in production arose. More specifically involving writer/director Edgar Wright
and his departure from the project in which he has invested a huge amount of
his time in pre-production.
Those
problems have been solved with Marvel bringing in director Peyton Reed (Bring
It On) to replace Wright. But there have now been doubts on the final product
with Wright’s departure. Still, the film is moving forward. Filming just
started and Marvel was very eager to release the very first photo from the
film.
The photo,
seen above courtesy of USA Today, features Paul Rudd (Clueless, Anchorman 2) as
Scott Lang in normal clothes. Now, I know fans have waited to see Rudd in
costume but filming just started so we may get to see him in it very soon. For those
not familiar with the character of Lang, he is a thief who once stole the
Ant-Man suit from Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man played by Oscar winner Michael
Douglas (Wall Street, The Ghost and the Darkness). He would later become
Ant-Man and in this film, he will use his skills in stealing to do a heist that
may very well save the planet.
Ant-Man
already has a great cast lined up from Cory Stoll (The Strain), Evangeline
Lilly (Lost), Michael Pena (Flight of the Phoenix) and John Slattery (Mad Men,
Iron Man 2).
Ant-Man
is set for release on July 17, 2015.
