Now You See Me Movie Review
Now You See Me gets you hooked by
the very first card trick Jessie Eisenberg’s character performs on screen.
After that, you will never let your eyes off the screen even for a minute in
case you miss the tricks.
Now You See Me is a heist film,
well sort of. It appears to be a greatly planned heist but there is something
more behind the curtain. It gets you wrapped up in the plan making you miss the
bigger picture. Then you get a big surprised at the end.
The film has a great cast which
makes it more believable. Jessie Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave
Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Melanie Laurent, Sir Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman
make up the cast of magicians, fools and the audience. Each of the actors brought
their own trick to the table making him or her stands out. In the film we have four
magicians calling themselves the Four Horsemen. Eisenberg, Harrelson, Fisher
and Franco have great chemistry together as a group. They may have started as
individuals but end up as a unique group. Caine and Freeman play well as the
protagonists in the film and Laurent and Ruffalo as the law trying to catch the
Four Horsemen. These four actors may not be the main focus of the film, but
they play a huge part in the trick.
As we saw in the trailers of this
film, a huge set for magic was done focusing on lights and other effects. The film
balances all the effects needed in the film. Light and shadow were well placed
and balanced as to not make it too dark. The film was like a huge magic show
and the sequences well planned and executed.
Now You See Me is a film that
works like a magic trick. Every step taken has been calculated to perfection. You
will get hooked as you try to figure out how they did it, why and the plain old
questions when it comes to magic. But as the film always says, they closer you
look, the less you see. I give it 7 out of 10.
