The Tourist Movie Review

The Tourist was a film with great potential but failed to meet expectations. The film had a great cast and a great location but something went wrong.
The film was not at all bad. The film has a great performance from Johnny Depp who plays Frank, an American tourist. Depp showcases finesse and comic wit in his portrayla. Jolie also did a good job as the lady of the tourist's dreams who is just using him. Paul Bettany completes the cast as the agent after Jolie and his boyfriend Alexander Pierce. Also in the film is the lovely place of Italy which adds romance and adventure to the film.
The main thing that possibly went wrong in the film is that Depp and Jolie, even if they did great performances, did not have that chemistry that gets the audiences going. Mostly what we get to see are Jolie and Depp in a scene performing good individually but not as a couple. Another thing that didn't quite do well was the score. The score was good but it didn't get the right mix for the scenes or even the location.
The film has a lot of laughs and has a bit of exciting parts. But it was predictable. The plot was sort of a cliche but the story was fairly delivered. The rate the film was playing added to its slight downfall. It was slow so even if there were action sequences, it still felt like a normal scene with no excitement.
In all, The Tourist has its ups and downs. But it is still a fairly good and enjoyable film. I give it 6 out of 10.
