The Green Hornet Movie Review

When it was first announced that the Green Hornet will be getting a movie version, I was sceptical. Then when I heard that Seth Rogen will be playing the titular character, I became more sceptical.
When I saw the trailer for the film, I already knew what will be the outcome. And when I saw it, I was right. The Green Hornet is an action/comedy that at some point becomes pointless. The film had a shallow plot, boring scenes, useless scenes and corny jokes.
The first parts of the film were quite boring and filled with corny jokes and lame action scenes. The film had a casting problem. Most of the actors didn't fit well with their parts. I felt bad for Christoph Waltz. He could have done more with the character if he could have had more screen time. The same thing goes for Cameron Diaz who didn't quite shine in the film. The film mainly focused on the Green Hornet who's character didn't need much thorough inspection. Seth Rogen sort of over did the jokes for the film which made it corny and pointless. Jay Chou did a fair job as Kato but there are times we may have a hard time understanding what he is saying.
The film has a lot of aspects that they failed to deliver. Like Kato and the Hornet's interest in Lenore, or even digging deeper in the crime syndicate. At first, the crime lord looks like he owned the entire city but at the end, he only has a small group of henchmen or even high powered weapons. It appeared he had an organization but only a few members.
The movie got going in the final parts of the film. That's the parts where I enjoyed the most. At that time, the jokes became funny and the film had its points. But, it was still unable to save this film.
All in all, The Green Hornet is a comedy and not a hero film as it may have intended to be. It may get big bucks for 3D but it will definitely be a flop in the story and critics reviews. If the film could have paid more attention to the story instead of the jokes and effects, this could have been one good film. I give it 5 out of 10.
