The Last Stand Movie Review
The Last Stand, Arnold
Schwarzenegger’s comeback film, is an exciting movie. It may not be an award
winning movie, but it delivers what it intends to deliver, which is Arnold back
in action.
The movie has plot which is new
in some way. An escaped drug lord goes for the border into Mexico. The thing
that’s quite new is that he has already established an elaborate plan to cross
the border and he drives a really fast car.
The Last Stand is a perfect
comeback film for the former Governator. It is filled with tons of action and
has comedy as well. When you’re talking about a Schwarzenegger film, you expect
guns and a lot of no holds barred punches. Well you get them in this film and
more.
Acclaimed director Jee-woon Kim
brings his own unique style in making The Last Stand. The camera movement and cinematography are
perfectly implemented to suit the extreme action sequences depicted in the
movie. All the angles and wide shots create a new perspective at the way we
look at a Schwarzenegger film.
The cast in the film also do good
work in the film. They complement each other in a funny way but is just right
for the action. One of those co-stars that stand out is Jamie Alexander. She managed
to show her presence at first as a newbie cop then emerged as one tough woman
facing military trained men. Jamie is more than just eye candy, she is beauty
with talent.
The Last Stand is a film to watch
when you just want your day to have a load of action and comedy. It is fast,
action packed, and has a good deal of humor. It is a good come back for Arnold
and is one exciting and thrilling ride. I give it 7 out of 10.
